Benjamin Kapoor is a Canadian artist and designer based in Brooklyn, New York.
Born in Toronto, he developed his creative approach while working at his uncle Anish
Kapoor’s studio in London, before earning his MFA in Industrial Design from Parsons
School of Design. These experiences shaped his disciplined commitment to form, material experimentation, and exceptional craftsmanship.
Kapoor’s practice bridges art and design, drawing on his expertise in advanced digital
fabrication - including 7-axis CNC machining - as well as his background in studio furniture making. His work has been exhibited at Otras Formas Gallery (NYC) and Collectible Design Fair 2024, and appears in the collections of The Carlyle Hotel (NYC), Hotel Fouquet’s (NYC), and Cherry (St. Tropez). His projects have also been featured in publications such as British Vogue Interiors and The New York Times.

May 7 - July 30, 2026Dernier Cri announces Interwoven: Everything Touches Everything Else, a group exhibition that considers the ways in which all things are connected-material to maker, object to environment, past to present. Across disciplines, the works in this exhibition reveal a shared language of transformation, where raw elements are shaped, layered, and brought into relation with one another. Threads-both literal and conceptual-run throughout, binding disparate forms into a cohesive whole. At a moment when our relationship to the natural world feels increasingly fragile, the works offer a reflection on interdependence. Everything touches everything else. Unveiling the Inaugural Exhibition: NIGHT SHIFT

For this debut, Dernier Cri founder Michael McGraw has commissioned a select group of artists and designers to create new work in which darkness becomes both subject and medium.
