Julian Mayor

Julian Mayor is an artist and designer based in Doncaster, UK. He is best known for his work in welded mirror stainless steel, developing the forms with digital technologies and then making each piece by hand using traditional craftsmanship techniques. Julian studied at the Royal College of Art under Ron Arad, and on graduating in 2000 moved to San Francisco to work for an interior design studio. Returning two years later, he taught 3D modelling at University of the Arts London while developing his own practice and exhibiting his work. He moved to a larger and better equipped studio in Doncaster in the North of England in 2011 when he began to explore welding different metals to create signature designs and artworks. His work has been exhibited at the V&A London, the Museum Of Art & Design NYC and MUDAC Lausanne.
