High Altar Boy is conceived as a domestic altar. A tall foyer table holds six brass candle holders set into a structure of cast concrete and burned ash. The wood is treated using shou sugi ban, leaving its surface darkened and marked by heat. The piece balances mass and restraint, translating a repeated gesture of care into a functional object scaled for the home.
