Wire Fringe is reminiscent of the blend of Paco Rabanne dresses of the 60s and fringe

dresses of the twenties. This was created as a two-dimensional proof for a larger-scale

weaving to a space, a strong metallic multi-layered woven sculpture. Weaving the wire

hooks into the warp and letting them free-fall on their own creates a unique texture,

blending fringe e4ects with architectural spacing.

Suzanne began collecting dry cleaning hangers and the unwanted plastic bags that accumulated in

her closet before returning to the dry cleaner. One day she asked the cleaners what they did

with the hangers, and if they reused them. They said they could not, but would be happy to

dispose of them. That’s when Suzanne realized this could all be woven.
