Pilar Proffitt, an artist/designer, works from concrete to experimental. She attended the Arts Students’ League in NYC as a teen, studied Visual Art and Architecture at Trinity College, then furthered her education at Berkeley and Virginia Tech, earning a Master’s in Architecture. She mainly works with oils and acrylic paints to explore poetry and architecture, as both 2- and 3-dimensional forms. For her, there is a fine line between art and design, and her hope is to remain forever in that tension. Her latest project is serving as the interior designer for a hotel in NYC—a gentle balance of art and design.
